Wrestler Pin up Medievale

Questo weekend è stato semplicemente me-ra-vi-glio-so. Per festeggiare il compleanno di quattro nostre amiche abbiamo organizzato una festa dal tema desueto: wrestler pin up medievale!

Si può immaginare come, una volta messa da parte la serietà e la dignità, ognuno di noi si sia presentato già dal pomeriggio coi più improbabili indumenti addosso. Cavalieri, dame di corte, spade ma anche cinture dorate, gomitiere, rossetto sgargiante e acconciatura anni '40...eravamo decisamente ben assortiti.

Ci siamo misurati in virili prove d'abilità dal sapore medievale, ma soprattutto ci siamo goduti la giocoleria col fuoco. Che meraviglia!

Una festa che è durata più di dodici ore e che ha visto mille genti andare e venire da casa nostra come fosse un mercato rionale, una confusione felice che già mi manca. E come dimenticare l'attimo di smarrimento e la subitanea decisione quando ci siamo accorti che le birre stavano finendo: andiamo a rifornirci senza toglierci il costume! Si, modalità "regresso alla prima adolescenza" mode on. 

Quattro festeggiate, quattro torte (o di più?), quattro momenti di consegna dei regali: la musica metal-medievale-celtica-d'n'b non ha saputo mettere a tacere il loro imbarazzo palpabile.

So che La Magione è amata dai nostri amici tanto quanto lo è da noi, e questo si percepisce sempre, sia che ci siano venti persone a far del casino durante una festa, sia che siano solo due, venuti a far finta di studiare e a far delle chiacchiere. Per quanto mi riguarda adoro passare il mio tempo sulla maxi poltrona del salotto, adoro arrivare il venerdì e sentire che è più caldo fuori sotto la pioggia che dentro davanti alla stufa appena accesa, adoro puzzare di fumo, adoro persino quando qualcuno rompe qualcosa (il che avviene ad una velocità sorprendente, se ci penso). Non è affatto la casa perfetta, la casa comoda, la casa bella. Ma è formidabile nel suo essere la casa di tutti, e questo basta, a quanto pare, a renderla adorabile.

We had the most incredible theme party ever last weekend. It's been just great, about twenty guests and four celebrated people.

It all started in the afternoon, when we decided to spend our time playing with the fire and to do juggling with it. We were all dressed, and we were definitely proud to show to the world our loss of dignity, according someone's belief: we were medieval wrestling pin up! The stupidest theme ever has proved to be the best one, we had such a great time that it'll be hard to organise a better party.

We played in the garden till the light helped us to see each other, then the party moved into La Magione. We finally managed to keep the rooms warm and it was just perfect to chat in front of the fireplace, drinking beer and having fun while dressed like fools. And when beers finished we went to the closer shopping place to buy some and we've been appreciated by cashiers. Moreover, because it was the birthday party of four people, we had four cakes and four embarassing moments in which they received their silly gifts.

The party lasted for more than twelve hours and I'm so happy we managed to organise it so perfectly!

I know that La Magione is loved by our friends as much as we love it, and we always feel this love, is that there are twenty people during a party, whether they are only two, came to pretend to study and actually doing chats. As for me I love spending my time on the big chair in the living room, I love to arrive on Friday and feel that it is warmer outside in the rain than in front of the stove just turned on, I love to smell of smoke, I love even when someone breaks something (which occurs at a surprising speed, I think). 

It's not the perfect house, the comfortable house, the beautiful house. But it is formidable in its being the home of all, and that's enough, apparently, to make it adorable.

1. Fino a giugno 2013, salvo eccezioni, possiamo ospitare solo dal venerdì al lunedì. / Till June 2013 we can host only from Friday to Monday

2. Chiediamo che le richieste di ospitalità vengano inoltrate tra un mese e una settimana prima dell'arrivo previsto / We ask future guests to request for hospitality at least a week before the arrival but not before a month.

3. Sappiamo che gli imprevisti possono capitare: se il vostro arrivo dovesse spostarsi di qualche giorno o saltare del tutto, per favore, avvisateci! / We know that hitches may happen: if your arrival has been delayed or cancelled, please, contact us!

Convivenza a La Magione / Cohabitation in La Magione

1. Non essere troppo riservato, sei qui per condividere l'esperienza con noi. Sii rispettoso degli spazi. Sii educato con noi e i nostri amici. Pensa a divertirti e a rilassarti ma non comportarti come se tutto ti fosse dovuto: noi siamo i padroni di casa e se esageri te lo diremo. / Don't be too shy, you're here to share the experience with us. Be respectful of the house. Be polite with us and our friends. Have fun and relax but don't behave like everything is owed to you: we're the masters of the house and if you don't respect us we'll tell you that.

2. Forniamo asciugamani, coperte, lenzuola, asciugacapelli e riscaldamento / We provide towels, blankets, hair-drier and heating. 

3. Chi porta delle coperte in più vince un premio! / Who brings more blankets wins a prize!
 
4. E' permesso fumare ma solo se non dà noia agli altri ospiti / It is allowed to smoke, if it doesn't bother any other guest.

5. Sentiti libero di fare ciò che vuoi, nel rispetto della casa...ma se hai un dubbio chiedi! / Feel free to do whatever you want, while respecting the house...but if you have a doubt, ask!

Tra le mille cose cui sono negato, spunta anche il presentarmi.
Sono un giovane adulto, ma ancora molto bambino, che ama la compagnia, le cene in allegria e la birra a fiumi. Amo anche una bella chiacchiarata di fronte al camino, aspettare l'alba e stare comodi in poltrona. Mi riesce bene pure aspettare l'alba assolutamente non comodi e decisamente non in poltrona. Forse mi stanco facilmente, forse non amo il silenzio, di certo sono curioso e sempre alla ricerca di qualcosa da imparare. Amo troppo mangiare, mi piace troppo poco camminare. Nonostante questo odio la macchina, a meno di non esserci dentro in compagnia, amo il treno ed il viaggiare. Forse sono un buon amico, di sicuro non sono un buon nemico. Non amo litigare, ma discutere ogni tanto non fa male.

In between the million things I'm no good at, writing a presentation is for sure on the podium.
I'm a young adult, but still very childish, who loves company, pleasantly dinners and floods of beer. I love chatting in front of the fireplace, waiting for the dawn comfortably set in armchair. I even shine at waiting for the dawn absolutely not comfortably and certainly not in armachair. I probably get tired too easily, maybe I don't like silence, for sure I0'm curious and I'm always out for something to learn. I love eating, I like walking too little. Despite of that I hate using my car, but if there's someone with me thing change, I love trains and in general I love travelling. I might not be a good friend but I'm not for sure a good enemy. I don't like arguing but it's nice to discuss sometimes.

Il formaggio, l'ottusità, il giallo, la solitudine non programmata, le palestre, l'indecisione, gli snob.

Weather

Location

La Magione si trova in Via del Castagno 53 in località Sparvo, comune di Castiglione dei Pepoli. E' raggiugibile molto comodamente via autostrada, sia da Bologna che da Firenze (entrambi a circa 50 km di distanza). Da Bologna, l'uscita autostradale consigliata è quella di Rioveggio, da Firenze suggeriamo quella di Piano del Voglio. Inoltre a pochi chilometri si trova la stazione dei treni di San Benedetto val di Sambro-Castiglione dei Pepoli.

La Magione si trova a 8 chilometri da Castiglione dei Pepoli, un ameno paesino di montagna della "Comunità montana Alta e Media Valle del Reno". Castiglione offre tanti servizi, molti bar, un pub e soprattutto, tanti sentieri da percorrere in mezzo ai boschi. Nell'area limitrofa si trovano inoltre tre laghi: Santa Maria (a 3km), Brasimone (a 6km) e Suviana (a 20km).

Altro? Si! Sterminate montagne rigogliose di una flora pseudoincontaminata e di una selvaggissima fauna, un suggestivo santuario che se c'è la nebbia crederete di essere in Transilvania e dulcis in fundo....una curiosissima popolazione autoctona che è tutta da scoprire!  

La Magione is located in Via del Castagno 53, in the municipal area of Castiglione dei Pepoli and very close to the small village of Sparvo. It is easily reachable by motorway from Bologna and Florence (both about 50 km away). The motorway exit from Bologna is Rioveggio, from Florence we suggest the exit Piano del Voglio. Moreover, a few kilometers away from La Magione there is the train station of San Benedetto Val di Sambro-Castiglione dei Pepoli.

La Magione is located 8 kilometers from Castiglione dei Pepoli, a pleasant village that belongs to the "Mountain Community of the High and Medium Reno Valley" (Reno is the name of a river that flows nearby). Castiglione offers many services, many bars, a pub and above all, lots of trails in the woods. The area surrounding it offers three lakes, too: Santa Maria (within 3km), Brasimone (6km) and Suviana (20km). 

Anything else? Yes! Endless lush mountains of  pseudouncontaminate flora and a wild wild wildlife, a beautiful sanctuary (if there's fog you believe to be in Transylvania), and last but not least .... a curious native population that is just waiting to be discovered!

La Magione

"La Magione" è il soprannome dato dai nostri amici a questa grande casa vecchia più di un secolo, persa nel cuore dell'Appennino bolognese, lontano da tutto e da tutti.

Sarà per i suoi grandi spazi, sarà per la sua posizione isolata ma qui, noi, ci sentiamo sempre liberi di fare quanto più ci aggrada.

Affidataci dal nonno di Gabriele a Novembre 2012, ci prendiamo cura di questa attempata dimora con piccole opere di restauro, con qualche imbiancata alle pareti e con vari interventi di personalizzazione. Siamo consapevoli della fortuna che abbiamo a disporre di un luogo tanto confortevole ed è con gioia che ci accingiamo a presentarvelo.

La Magione sussiste in nove locali disposti su tre livelli: cucina, sala, quattro camere da letto, due toilettes e un bagno. La cucina e la sala sono il cuore pulsante della Magione, è dove ci raccogliamo per cene e feste, è dove studiamo, è dove ci godiamo appieno il calore della stufa a legna e del camino.

Nonostante l'arredo spartano, la Magione dispone di tutto il necessario per viverci. Divani, poltrone retrò (che più comode non si può, verrebbe da dire), tante sedie per mangiare in compagnia al grande tavolo, sei letti di varie misure per ospitare il maggior numero possibile di persone. E' in tutto e per tutto la casa della convivialità e del relax.

Non è una dimora di charme nè una baita chic, anzi, sotto certi aspetti è piuttosto malandata ma è una casa accogliente in cui ognuno può sentirsi libero di fare ciò che vuole, nel rispetto degli altri inquilini.

Ultimo ma non ultimo, è a prova di festa. E quando diciamo festa, intendiamo FESTA!

"La Magione" is the nickname given by our friends to this big house old as time and lost in the heart of the Bolognese Apennines, far from everything and everyone.

It might be for its big rooms or for its isolated position but here we always feel free to act according to our wishes. Entrusted by the grandfather of Gabriele, we take care of this ancient home with small restorative measures, with some fresh whitewash on the walls and several interventions of customization. 

We are completely aware of how fortunate we are to have a place so comfortable and it is with joy that we are going to present it.
 

La Magione composes of nine rooms arranged on three levels: kitchen, living room, four bedrooms, two toilets and a bathroom. The kitchen and the dining room are the heart of the mansion, it is where we gather for dinners and parties, is where we study, is where we enjoy the full heat of a wood stove and of a fireplace. 

Despite the spartan and rustic furnishings, La Magione has everything you need to live. Soft sofas, retro armchairs (which can not be more comfortable, you might say), many chairs to eat together at the big table, six beds in various sizes to accommodate as many people as possible. It's in every inch the house of conviviality and relaxation. 

It is not a charming house nor a chic hut, nay, in some respects it's quite shabby but is a cozy house in which everyone can feel free to do what he wants, in respect of the other tenants. 

Last but not least, it is partyproof. And when we say party, we mean PARTY!

Activities

Veniamo al sodo elencando con precisione le attività passate e future cui abbiamo preso parte con i nostri ospiti. Ovvero: il sollazzo e l'impegno in versione "La Magione".

- Pasta fresca. Si può dire che sia una delle attività casalinghe più frequenti quando ci sono ospiti, specialmente stranieri. Alcune delle nostre specialità sono i tortelloni di ricotta e quelli di zucca, le tagliatelle e le pappardelle al rosmarino.

- Body painting. Ma quanto è bello pasticciare coi colori sulle guance altrui?!

- Orto. Ancora da fare.

- Jungle speed. E' il gioco di carte più bello del mondo.

- Passeggiate e gite al lago.

- Pane nel vecchio forno a legna che si trova in giardino.

- Techno kitchen. Abbiamo scoperto che la nostra cucina ha elevate potenzialità per competere con i più grandi club al mondo. A Capodanno era in versione techno.

- Uncinetto.

We come to the point by listing the exact past and future which we participated with our guests. That is: the amusement and commitment in "The Mansion".

- Fresh pasta. It is one of the most common household activities when there are guests, especially foreigners. Some of our specialties include ravioli filled with ricotta cheese or pumpkin, tagliatelle and pappardelle with rosemary. 

- Body painting. How funny it is to mess with colors on friends' cheeks?! 

- Vegetable garden. To be done. 

- Jungle speed. It 's the most beautiful card game in the world. 

- Walks and trips to the lake. 

- Cooking bread in the old wood oven that is located in the garden. 

- Techno kitchen. We discovered that our kitchen has high potential to compete with the biggest clubs in the world. For New Year's Eve it was in a crazy techno version. 

- Crochet.

The project

Il "Progetto di turismo generoso" nasce dalla convinzione e dalla consapevolezza che possa esistere, in maniera autonoma e differente, un turismo gratuito basato unicamente sullo scambio di esperienze e sul baratto volontario.

Il turismo gratuito 

La Magione (questo è il nome della casa, per saperne di più curiosate il post La Magione) è aperta a tutti: giovani di tutte le età, studenti, viaggiatori, gruppi, creativi, musicisti, pittori, ballerini, escursionisti, insomma, è aperta a tutti gli abitanti del mondo.

C'è una sola regola d'accesso: la buona volontà. Non si viene qui per scroccare un panino e un giaciglio per la notte, si viene qui, in questo posto dimenticato perfino da GoogleMaps, per condividere e partecipare.

Abbiamo una casa da far brillare di luce propria, una casa da rendere sempre più accogliente!

Il baratto volontario

Il baratto è la prima forma storica di scambio di beni ed ha caratterizzato i rapporti sociali ben prima dell'avvento della moneta. Offrendo la Magione non ci aspettiamo che i nostri ospiti portino con loro dei doni ma sicuramente apprezziamo le sorprese, soprattutto quando riflettono la personalità di chi ce le porta!

Nessuna idea? Un oggetto che non usi più, un bel libro, il risultato di un tuo talento, una cosa cucinata da te...

La partecipazione alle spese

Lo sappiamo, stai pensando:"Ecco lo sapevo che c'era la fregatura!"

Ma quale fregatura, aspetta che ti spieghiamo. La Magione ha una spesa imprescindibile: il cibo! Dillo che non ci avevi pensato! Eggià noi mangiamo...e pure i nostri ospiti! Noi offriamo gratuitamente i nostri spazi ma nemmeno volendolo potremmo offrire da mangiare a tutti. Si procede usualmente facendo la spesa insieme e dividendo i costi. E' un modo come un altro per condividere un momento di vita vera ed offre inoltre gustose occasioni per cucinare insieme piatti sempre nuovi e diversi.

La colletta

Può capitare che sia in corso una colletta per l'acquisto di qualche nuovo arredo o utensile per la casa.

Al momento stiamo raccogliendo denaro per l'acquisto di una lavastoviglie ecologica. The "Project of generous tourism" stems from the belief and awareness that a free, independent and different tourism can exist and that it can be based solely on the free exchange of experiences and volountary barter.

Free tourism 
La Magione (this is the name of the house, to find out more, browse the post La Magione) is open to everyone: young people of all ages, students, travelers, groups, artists, musicians, painters, dancers, hikers, in short, it is open to all the world's inhabitants. There is only one access rule: goodwill. You do not come here to scrounge a sandwich and a bed for the night, you come here, in this place forgotten even by GoogleMaps, to share and participate. 
We have a house to shine with its own light, a house to make more and more welcoming!

The voluntary barter 
Barter is the first historical form of exchange of goods and featured social relations well before the advent of money. Offering the Mansion we do not expect our guests to bring gifts but certainly we appreciate surprises, especially when they reflect the personality of the door there! Any ideas? A book worth to read, an object that you no longer use, a product of your creativity, a food you made...

Contribute to the expenses
We know, you're thinking: "Here you are, I knew that there was a rip-off!"
What rip-off, wait and we explain. La Magione has essentially one expense: food! Admit that you didn't think about it! Yep, we eat... and our guests too! We offer our spaces for free but we can't offer food to everyone even if we'd like to. Usually we go out shopping with our guests and we share the cost. It's a way to share a moment of real life and it also offers opportunities to cook tasty dishes together, too.

The collection 
It may happen to set up a collection to buy some new furnitures or utensils for the home. We are currently raising money to purchase an ecological dishwasher. We're aware that it is not a basic necessity, but we are confident that it could relieve us of the washing of dozens of dirty dishes, inevitable souvenirs of the many dinners that are held at La Magione.

White is the snow

Neve, neve, neve. Ma è davvero poi così bella la neve? Occorre spalare tutto il piazzale per parcheggiare la macchina, si scivola, si rischia di morire trafitti da una stalattite di ghiaccio, per non parlare della polmonite, la sinusite, la febbre...ma comunque si, la neve è davvero bellissima. Nonostante i disguidi che comporta (quando ne viene giù tanta tanta la Magione è irraggiungibile) stare al calduccio del camino guardando i fiocchi cadere è un privilegio notevole. E non scordiamo di quanto attivamente partecipi la neve a rendere una serata normale, una fantastica serata da coccole!

Snow, snow and again snow. Is it really beautifil the snow? You got to shovel it to park the car, you risk to fall at every step you take, you even risk to die because of a huge ice stalagtite falling from the roof, say nothing of the flu, the temperature, pneumonia....anyway yes, snow is beautiful!
No matter all the negative aspects of it (included that we can't reach La Magione if noone cleans the streets), to stay at home and watching it falling, it's just perfect. It makes you relaxed. And we can't forget how the snow is magic to change a boring evening into a night of cuddles!

Manifesto

1. La Magione è una casa privata e libera, avulsa da qualsivoglia intento di lucro, intrinsecamente laica e apolitica. 

2. Considerando l'ospitalità come il vero motore del viaggio, l'incontro tra persone come una fonte di goia e la generosità spontanea come la moneta di scambio, offriamo i nostri spazi gratuitamente.

3. Offrendo i luoghi della Magione vogliamo offrire non solo un letto e l'occasione per un pasto caldo ma l'opportunità di parlare, di creare, di inventare e di divertirsi insieme.

4. Mettendo a disposizione la nostra buona volontà, il nostro tempo e i nostri mezzi facciamo la nostra promessa di devozione al progetto: un impegno costante e sincero, nato per sorgere naturalmente dalla curiosità e dall'interesse che nutriamo per i nostri ospiti e per il loro benessere.

5. Accogliendo i viaggiatori che passano di qui vogliamo cautamente e umilmente dare il nostro apporto alla comunità astratta ma ben più che concreta dei viaggiatori del mondo, degli spiriti itineranti, degli esploratori della vita.

6. Non chiedendo ma accettando le offerte dei nostri ospiti ci rimettiamo alla generosità altrui fermamente convinti che essa possa manifestarsi liberamente.

2. Considering the hospitality as the real engine of the trip, the meeting between people as a source of joy and spontaneous generosity as the currency of exchange, we offer our space for free.

3. Offering the places of La Magione, we offer not only a bed and the occasion for a hot meal but the opportunity to speak, to create, to invent and have fun together.

4. By providing our good will, our time and our means we make our promise of devotion to the project: a constant and sincere commitment, born to naturally arise out of the curiosity and the concern we have for our guests and their well-being .

5. Welcoming travelers who pass by here, we cautiously and humbly give our contribution to the abstract but definitely existing community of world travelers, traveling spirits, explorers of life.

6. Never asking but accepting the offerings of our guests we abide by their generosity, strongly believing that it can freely and spontaneously occur .
